    Very well done monograph on John McEnroe, with lots of tennis but also lots of criticism about how his rise to stardom was representative of social changes toward self expression, individualism, the branded personality and celebrity the chapter on Nike s use of McEnroe is highly recommended.

    was expecting a biography but the book was quite different and awesomely written very short read book that you can complete in 4 5 hrs you will quite enjoy the comparison of john mcenore behavior with changes happening in British society, wimbledon and tennis

    Great fun Tennis lends itself well to existentialist pondering, and this neatly considers 80s society, psychology and two of the greatest tennis players of all time there s plenty about Bjorg too.

    More like an essay than a book, but I think it captured McEnroe arguably better than anything ever has Very quick read that lets you really soak your toes in the material, if not a full immersion.
